Muğla seeks professional tourist for ‘Best Job in Turkey’ project
MUĞLA
The Ortaca Municipality in the western province of Muğla has announced a competition within the scope of the “Best Job in Turkey” project. The municipality is looking for someone who will travel in the region for 30 days and earn 30,000 Turkish liras (about $7,500).
The Ortaca district is home to Dalyan, which is known for its 2,500 year old rock tombs, Sarıgerme, İztuzu beach, which is famous for caretta carettas, and the 3,000 year-old ancient city of Kaunos.
The winner of the project will travel to Dalyan and Sarıgerme between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31 this year and share his/her experiences and photos through social media accounts such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube for the Best Job in Turkey project.
All expenditures of the winner will be met by the Ortaca Municipality, artisans and civil society organizations.
Ortaca mayor Hasan Karaçelik will select the “professional tourist” on July 18 with a jury consisting of the project’s agency and civil society organization members.
Speaking to state-run Anadolu Agency, Karaçelik said they made many different activities to promote the region and the country.
“We were told about such a project there and they asked us if we wanted to undertake it. It made me very excited and accepted it. We made meetings with businessmen and tourist officials for the project. We have received lots of applications,” he said, stating that they joined the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel (EMITT) exhibition in February.
Karaçelik said the winner should speak at least one foreign language very well, use social media very actively and take good photos and videos.
Applications for the project can be made on the website www.bestjobinturkey.com until July 14.
