Moroccan ambassador to Turkey dies in Rabat

Moroccan ambassador to Turkey dies in Rabat Moroccan Ambassador to Ankara Menouar Alem died on July 31 in the Moroccan capital Rabat, the Moroccan News Agency has reported, citing his relatives. 

The cause of his death has not yet been made public.

Born in 1955, Alem had joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in 1979, where he held several positions.

In 2004 he was appointed as Morocco’s ambassador to the EU, representing the country in the NATO Mediterranean Dialogue.

He was appointed as Morocco’s ambassador to Turkey on Oct. 13, 2016.
