‘Modern Essays 5’ at SALT Ulus
Within the scope of the exhibition “Modern Essays 5: Graft,” the documentary film Rivers and Tides (2001) on sculptor Andy Goldsworthy will be screened at Ankara’s SALT Ulus in November. The film captures the essential unpredictability of the site-specific, land art works produced by Goldsworthy.
Goldsworthy is renowned throughout the world for his work in ice, stone, leaves and wood. His remarkable still photographs often share his ephemeral works by fixing them in time. Rivers and Tides, shot in four countries and across four seasons, introduces the elusive element of time as it relates to and affects his sculptures.
