Ministry buying books for libraries

The Tourism and Culture Ministry allocates money to purchase books.
The Culture and Tourism Ministry has announced plans to buy 900,000 publications for public libraries with a budget of 10 million Turkish Liras.A total of 117 public libraries are set to benefit from the project, with a sum of 903,000 works being earmarked for purchase.
According to a written statement made by the ministry, a selection committee consisting of writers and publishers will gather to choose new titles from both contemporary and classic authors.
In 2005, the ministry purchased 79,000 books; one year later, it bought 326,000. In 2008, the figure was 514,000, according to figures.
