Marmara Group Foundation

Statesmen from 40 different countries have attended the 18. Euraisan Economic Summit organized Marmara Group Foundation.

The event has turned into a prestigious symbol of unity as it was accepted in the Balkans, Caucasus, Europe and the Far East, said Dr. Akkan Suver, the chairman of the foundation.

The summit’s organizer, the Marmara Group Foundation, will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

It was founded in 1985 to promote Turkey’s economic and democratic development toward global contemporary values and analyze the effects of transformations and developments in the areas of science, technology, economy, and democracy, along with their reflections on Turkey’s social and political life. As an independent NGO, the foundation prepares reports and analysis about solutions to Turkey’s various problems.

With a broader assessment the foundation regards participation as an important intellectual area of social transformation.

It believes that participation is the main principle of globalization and democracy.

Marmara Group Foundation believes that global thinking creates an intellectual sphere within the values of civil society.

Therefore, the existence of civil society, combined with globalization has now become one of the tools of sustainable democracy and economic development and hence the progress.
