A local man in Ankara killed his wife, his daughter, his son and injured his two other daughters on Jan. 25, after learning that one of his daughters was sexually assaulted three years ago.

The 51-year-old man, identified only by the initials A.C., committed the murders after an inter-family argument during which he reportedly learned that the family had not told him about the assault, which took place in the Aegean resort town of Bodrum in 2013.

A.C. shot his five family members with a shotgun before turning the gun on himself, the police reported.

His wife, son, and one daughter succumbed to their wounds at the scene, while two of his daughters were rushed to the Dışkapı and GATA hospitals in Ankara.

Police said one of the girls remains in a critical condition.

An investigation into the incident has been opened, during which police found a shotgun in the home.
