Main opposition leader Kılıçdaroğlu survives traffic accident

Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and senior CHP officials were not injured in the accident.

Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu escaped without harm from a traffic accident today, while traveling to Ankara from the southern province of Burdur.

Kılıçdaroğlu’s car crashed into another car while trying to evade an oversize vehicle, in the İscehisar district of Afyonkarahisar.

Kılıçdaroğlu and senior CHP officials survived the accident without injuries, said Adnan Keskin, the party’s deputy chair, while adding that the car suffered damage.

The oversized vehicle was driven by a man who did not possess a driver’s license, reports said.

Police detained the drivers of the two vehicles. The oversize vehicle’s driver has been charged with driving without a license, while the other car’s driver has been charged with “causing an accident” and “driving without a license.” They will be sent to a courthouse after testifying to police.
