Main opposition CHP’s election bureau in Istanbul attacked with Molotov cocktails

Two unknown people attacked the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) election bureau in Istanbul’s Esenyurt district with Molotov cocktails late March 10.The attack took place at 11:00 p.m. local time and caused damage to the building, though no one was injured. It was reported that two people with masks threw Molotov cocktails at the building before running away. Firemen reached the area and extinguished the fire inside the bureau caused by the attack. The police are searching for the two attackers.
Late Feb. 23, in the Aegean province of Aydın, the window panes of the election office of Aydın Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu of the CHP, who is also running for the same post in the upcoming elections, were smashed.
