‘Made in Turkey’ super yachts get sector Oscars

Koç Holding’s RMK Marine-built yachts Karia and Sarafin were both awarded the ‘Jury’s Special Award.’
Two yachts built by RMK Marine, Koç Holding’s ship builders, received the “Jury’s Special Award” at the World Super Yacht awards ceremony, held for the first time in Istanbul. The 45 meter long “Karia” and the 30 meter long “Sarafin” took home the awards.“The fact that two yachts built with great care by our ship yard has been recognized at such an international platform made me very happy,” said Rahmi Koç, honorary chairman of Koç Holding.
‘Oscars of yachts’
The World Super Yacht awards are recognized as the “Oscars” of the international super yacht sector, according to daily Hürriyet. At the 2010 World Super Yacht awards ceremony, the 52 meter long “Nazenin V,” which was also built by RMK Marine, also won the “Jury’s Special Award.”
“These types of organizations highlight the Turkish yacht sector’s growing quality and success to international brokers and yacht manufacturers,” said Koç.
