Low tide reveals ruins of ancient port in southern Turkey
MERSİN
The remains of an ancient port in Turkey’s southern province of Mersin’s Mezitli district have come to light due to the receding water levels resulting from a low tide.
Some portions of the port, which is part of the ancient city of Soli Pompeipolis, could be seen as the water levels decreased.
