Long Thursday displays exhibits at SALT Beyoğlu
This month’s Long Thursday at SALT Beyoğlu includes a guided tour of A Promised Exhibition at 19.00 (Turkish and English), and at 20.00 a screening of a creative commons documentary project titled Preempting Dissent (English without subtitles) by Greg Elmer and Andy Opel. Released in 2013, the documentary interrogates the expansion of the so-called “Miami- Model” of protest policing, a set of strategies developed in the wake of 9/11 to preempt forms of mass protest at major events in the US and worldwide. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Elmer and media theorist Jussi Parikka. A guided tour of the exhibition One, No One and One Hundred Thousandat SALT Galata will start at 19.00 (Turkish and English). At SALT Ulus, Burcu Yiğit Turan will give a talk titled “Landscape and Power.”
