Lira loses big against dollar

The Turkish Lira weakened for the sixth consecutive day yesterday against the U.S. dollar to its lowest level in the past month.
The dollar on Istanbul and Ankara free foreign exchange markets sold yesterday at 1.856 liras and 1.86 liras, respectively. The figures for Friday were 1.823 and 1.826 liras, respectively. The dollar sold at 1.823 liras at the Istanbul bourse’s closing on Friday.
The euro-dollar parity in international markets was seen at 1.3475, whereas the pound-dollar and yen-dollar parities stood yesterday at 1.5636 and 76.85, respectively.
Meanwhile the value of the ISE-100 index at the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) fell to 52,752.15 points, marking a daily decrease by 3.16 percent when the bourse closed yesterday
