‘Learning to Dance’ at Soda

“Learning To Dance,” the second solo show from Barcelona-based American sculptor Frank Plant, will be held at SODA Istanbul between April 18 and June 15. The title of the show is a metaphorical reference to the relationship that the artist has with his ideas and their ongoing interconnection and development.

It refers to the creative process as a dance, the merging of the creator’s understanding of his surroundings, the focus and examination of certain aspects of culture, aesthetics and society, and the resulting development of ideas. Each work is the result of an embrace, study and movement. Plant maintains the simple, linear and formal language of registration seen in his previous works.
