French musician sisters Katia and Mariella Labeque prepare to join the Borusan Philharmonic to perform with Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra.

The internationally known French sisters Katia and Mariella Labeque are set to join the Borusan Philharmonic to perform a composition exuding the dynamism and excitement of the 20th century.
The sisters are visiting Istanbul as guests of the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra and will perform under the baton of Gürer Aykal. Another surprise of the night is the world premiere of a composition Zeynep Gedizlioğlu prepared at the request of Borusan Culture and Arts.

Katia and Marielle Labeque are sibling pianists renowned for their ensemble of synchronicity and energy. Their musical ambitions started at an early age when they rose to international fame with their contemporary rendition of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, which became one of the first gold records in classical music. The pair has since developed a stunning career performing worldwide.

The sisters have guest performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Dresden Staatskapelle, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Los Angeles Philharmonic, LSO, London Philharmonia Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra and Vienna Philharmonic. The duo has performed under the direction of Semyon Bychkov, Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Colin Davis, Charles Dutoit, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Kristjan Jarvi, Paavo Jarvi, Zubin Mehta, Juanjo Mena, Seiji Ozawa, Antonio Pappano, Georges Pretre, Sir Simon Rattle, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Leonard Slatkin and Michael Tilson Thomas. k HDN
