Erdal Polat, 24, confessed to being a member of the PKK, and obtaining the car used in the bombing, but denied detonating the vehicle.
The attack Jan. 3, 2008, in Diyarbakır, the largest city of Turkey's mainly Kurdish populated Southeast, killed seven people.
The PKK apologized for the attack and blamed elements acting without the approval of the group's leadership.
The court sentenced five other suspects each to six years, three months in jail for helping Polat and for membership in the terrorist PKK. Six other defendants were acquitted.
