Karadağ and Küçük in double display
The exhibition, titled 'Drawings are on me!' is Karadağ’s 20th show.
Hürriyet Daily News cartoonist Turgay Karadağ’s first joint exhibition with ceramics artist Defne Küçük is on display at Schneidertempel Art Center. The exhibition opened on Dec. 8 and runs until Dec. 30.“Not long after I was asked to draw some things for City Brief, the weekend magazine of Hürriyet Daily News, where I work at, these drawings came out,” Karadağ said.
“At first, they were only illustrations based on some photos of Istanbul; but when my curious cats started to walk around in them, they went far beyond being ordinary illustrations. Now, I can easily call them ‘my paintings.’”
The exhibition, titled “Drawings are on me!” is Karadağ’s 20th show. At the same time, İzmir-based ceramics artist Küçük is inviting viewers to a journey in her inner world by using various symbols on wall plates made of ceramics in the side exhibition titled “Up on the Wall.” Schneidertempel Art Center is on Bankalar Street Felek Alley No.1, in Karaköy neighborhood. The art center is open between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the week and between noon and 4 p.m. on Sunday. The center is closed on Saturdays.
