Kamhi becomes honorary president of Marmara Group, Suver reelected
ISTANBUL
The Marmara Group Foundation has granted, by unanimous decision, veteran businessman Jak Kamhi with the title of honorary president at an extraordinary general assembly, as the Istanbul-based non-governmental organization also reelected Dr. Akkan Suver as its president.The group held its assembly at Istanbul’s historic Malta Kiosk at the garden of Yıldız Palace late on Jan. 26.
The general assembly also decided on Necdet Timur as the dean of its diplomatic corps.
In his address, Kamhi stated, “I am bound by duty to serve my country.”
Suver said some 40 countries would be expected to participate in the 19th Eurasian Economic Summit to take place on April 5-7 in Istanbul.
The new executive council under the presidency of Suver was composed of Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu, Şamil Ayrım, Engin Köklüçınar, Yüksel Çengel, Cengiz Güldamlası, Lale Aytanç Nalbant, Cafer Okray and Nuri Artok.
