Japan eyes stronger Turkey ties

The Japanese government will support a global cooperation with Turkey that will benefit both nations and is heralded by Turkey’s neighboring countries and the international community.According to a written statement released yesterday by the Japanese Embassy, the framework of relations between Turkey and Japan were determined considering the political, economic and social conditions of Turkey.
The primary support policy will be the enhancement of global partnership relations that will benefit both countries while the secondary policies will be supporting sustainable economic development and enhancement of cooperation for development, the statement said. In this context, the Japanese government plans to promote trade and economic relations with Turkey in order to support Turkey’s economic development, while on the other hand looking to develop partnerships regarding third parties, the Embassy said.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA) will cooperate on Turkey’s work toward development in Middle Eastern, African and Central Asian countries, the Embassy said.
