İzmir hosts puppets of the world
ISTANBUL
The 12th İzmir International Puppet Days festival, which kicked off March 1, is continuing in the western Turkish city, featuring 50 puppet theater companies from 26 countries in 59 indoor and outdoor venues.
There are also puppet show contests among elementary schools as part of the event, which is being hosted at the Kipa AVM mall for a fourth year running.
“Puppet artists from around the world will be in the İzmir Balçova and Çiğli Shopping Malls between March 10 and 18. Performances will be open to everyone visiting the malls,” said Kipa Mall’s manager Orçun Onat.
“The festival brings together many puppet artists from France, Italy, Brazil, Holland, Bulgaria and many other countries from around the world,” Onat added.
The Puppet Days will continue this year until March 18.
