Istanbul powerhouses win in Turkish Super Lig

Turkish football giants Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş won in the fifth week of Super Toto Super Lig.
Fenerbahçe on Sept. 16 evening snapped a three match losing streak by beating Atiker Konyaspor 1-0 in an away match.
Fenerbahçe's Eljif Elmas scored the only goal in the 67th minute, giving his team a much coveted win.
Fenerbahçe will play against Beşiktaş next week in the league for a derby showdown.
Galatasaray handed Kasimpasa its first loss of the season Sept. 14 with a 4-1 victory at home as the two teams switched positions at the top of the Turkish Spor Toto Super Lig.
Galatasaray now has 12 points, leading the league table by goal average.
The other Istanbul heavyweight Beşiktaş defeated Yeni Malatyaspor 2-1 on Sept. 15 evening at Vodafone Arena in Istanbul to bag three points.
In the other matches of the fifth week, Ankaragucu edged out Akhisarspor 1-0, Göztepe defeated Kayserispor 2-0, DG Sivasspor drew BSB Erzurum 2-2, M. Basaksehir defeated Antalyaspor 4-0, C. Rizespor drew Bursaspor 1-1.
At the last match of the fifth week, Aytemiz Alanyaspor will play against Trabzonspor on Sept. 17.
