Istanbul Modern hosts film director Yeşim Ustaoğlu
ISTANBUL
“Rendezvous with Directors,” a series of meetings featuring directors who stand out for their artistic identity and original approach in Turkey’s contemporary film culture held by Istanbul Modern Cinema, is hosting Yeşim Ustaoğlu this year.
The “Rendezvous with Directors” selection presents six feature length films and four shorts by Ustaoğlu in addition to the behind-the-scenes documentary for film “Araf” (Somewhere in Between) and the unreleased extended version of the director’s documentary “Sırtlarındaki Hayat, 2004” (Life on Their Shoulders).
As part of the program, where cast members will be in attendance at screenings, an extensive conversation with Ustaoğlu will be held on Feb. 28 in addition to presentations by film critics.
The conversation, held within the scope of the program, will focus on Ustaoğlu’s cinema and her directing.
The event is free of charge.
