Galatasaray Medical Park looks to capitalize on its home-court advantage as it starts its tough Beko Turkish Basketball League (TBL) semifinal series against archrival Beşiktaş Milangaz tonight.Galatasaray hosts Beşiktaş at the Abdi İpekçi Arena in the first game of the two Istanbul rivals’ best-of-five semifinal series.
Regular season leader Galatasaray will have the advantage of playing the first two games of the series on home court, before the series will be carried to the Milangaz Arena.
The Lions have edged out Tofaş in two games, while Beşiktaş took a harder way and knocked another Istanbul rival Fenerbahçe Ülker out of the playoffs in the first round.
The game at the Abdi İpekçi Arena starts at 8 p.m.
The other semifinal tie between Banvit and Anadolu Efes starts tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray Medical Park yesterday announced it signed a new two-plus-two-year-contract with coach Oktay Mahmuti. According to the deal, the board and Mahmuti will reconsider the deal after two years.
