Istanbul Film Fest awaits for new films

Submissions for feature-length fiction and documentary films have begun for the next Istanbul Film Festival, which is set to take place between March 30 and April 14, 2013.

The deadline for the Meetings on the Bridge Film Development Workshop is Jan. 21, 2013, while the deadline for the Golden Tulip National Competition is Jan. 28, 2013.

In the National Competition category, a jury will make the selections in best film, best director, best actor and actress, best script, best director of photography, best fiction and best soundtrack categories while also doling out a jury special prize.

The films that will be selected from submissions will compete for the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival Golden Tulip National Competition.

The best film in the category will be awarded 150,000 Turkish Liras, while 50,000 liras will be given to the best director and 10,000 liras to the best actress and best actor.

The jury special prize, which totals $30,000 and is being awarded by Efes Pilsen, will be given to a national film in memory of Onat Kutla
