“As a group, Turkish banks have the best funding, capital and asset quality fundamentals,” analysts including Haluk Akdoğan in London wrote in a note. “Although they have performed very well in the last three months, share prices are not overly high by historical standards.” Halkbank, Turkey’s second-largest state-run bank, was downgraded to “hold” from “buy.”
