Iran keen on İGDAŞ privatization

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız met Iranian Vice President Ali Saidlu inAnkara on June 29.
The meeting was expected to focus on bilateral relations between Turkey and Iran, especially in the energy sector. He said they were particularly interested in the privatization of İGDAŞ.
“Our friends are closely following the Istanbul natural gas distribution project to increase our working relationship” said Saeidlo, adding that both countries had a rich capacity for both energy and natural gas resources.
“Our goal is to increase relations to the highest level. … We can even develop cooperation in the area of transporting our energy resources to Europe.”
Prior to the meeting, Saidlu said they would discuss the project, which would carry oil and natural gas to Europe via Turkey, as well as a joint investment project in electricity.
Earlier in the day, the Iranian vice president was received by Turkish President Abdullah Gül.
