The Turkish Embassy call center has answered a total of 740,390 calls in the past five years. Most calls concerned questions about marriage, citizenship and passports, but some unique questions have popped up over the years.The embassy answered questions on where to find Turkish food in foreign countries, how many tube stops one should take to reach London’s Turkish Embassy and where to buy a Turkish teapot in Paris, according to Anatolia news agency.
Citizens also called for help in times of trouble, such as losing a passport in a foreign country. The embassy’s call center also helped people during the earthquake in Japan and the Libya crisis.
