Inflation to fall says Başçı

Head of the Turkish Central Bank Erdem Başçı said on Oct. 12 that the Bank expected inflation rates in Turkey to decline as of the last quarter of they year, adding that it also expected Turkey’s growth figures to accelerate.“The Central Bank has supported the growth of the Turkish economy by preserving price stability,” Başçı was quoted as saying in a written statement.
“The decline in interest rates for overnight borrowing led to a decline in the interest rates of commercial banks ... Price stability will continue to be the priority of the Central Bank,” Başçı added.
