Inflation in Istanbul falls

Istanbul enjoyed its lowest monthly inflation rise in the last six years in March, according to data gathered by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO). However, the rise in gasoline prices played a negative role, the chamber said yesterday.Retail prices in Istanbul were up 0.59 percent, while wholesale prices were up 0.67 percent last month compared with February. In annual comparison the figures are 9.9 percent and 9.6 percent respectively. The chamber said exchange rates, energy and metal prices will continue to dominate inflation rate.
