Indian musical comes to Adana festival and Istanbul

‘Love Has a New Address’ will appear on Adana and Istanbul stages.

In its 15th year, the State Theaters – Sabancı International Adana Theater Festival will host a Bollywood musical, “Taj Express.” The international musical of India, “Taj Express, Love Has a New Address” will come to Turkey for the first time and will be performed for audiences in Istanbul and the southern province of Adana. The musical takes its name from the famous Taj Express train that has been carrying travelers across India since 1964. 

“Taj Express” combines the new pop and Bollywood culture of India with its deep-rooted traditions. During the journey, intriguing snippets from India’s rich and diverse heritage will be presented to the audience.

The show will feature a variety of dance numbers, including vibrant and rhythmic forms like the Lavani from Maharashtra, the Koothu from South Indian and the Dance of the Blue God, and Lord Shiva’s mesmerizing and powerful Tandava. 

The show boasts an impressive array of costumes and sets that will provide the colorful backdrop for the story and its soundtrack. 

The musical will be performed on March 28 and 29 at the Adana Hacı Ömer Sabancı Culture Center and on April 1 at Istanbul’s Sabancı University performance hall. k HDN
