In three videos: Attacker who fired on police killed in Istanbul street
Istanbul police killed one of the militants in the street when he opened fire on them.
1) The car bomb, which exploded at around 1 a.m. on Aug. 10, wounded seven civilians, two policemen and a deputy police chief, according to a statement by the Istanbul Police Department.2) Assailants also opened fire on police as they were conducting an investigation at the site at around 6:45 a.m. Beyazıt Çeken, the director of the bomb disposal team, was killed during the clashes.
3) Police killed one of the militants in the street when he opened fire on them. Another militant killed himself when a bomb he was carrying exploded in his hands. One civilian, who was passing by, was injured by a stray bullet during the clash. A recently founded far-leftist organization called the People’s Defense Unit claimed the attack.
