If the peace process is fulfilled and democratization is completed, the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) will start conducting legal politics, according to Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) co-chairperson Gültan Kışanak.Kışanak attended a BDP youth branch event in Diyarbakır and was planning to make her speech in front of the provincial office for the BDP, but police forces did not allow the group to march due to masked participants.
Kışanak then addressed the crowd from the party bus. “There is an obligation to open a place for Abdullah Öcalan in the democratic struggle for the peace process.”
“If we can proceed successfully with the process, and achieve democratization and peace, the PKK will conduct legal politics. If we can speak of a new process, everyone will be able to voice even their most diverse ideas and symbols through democratic means.”
The group then ended the march, and dispersed without further confrontation.
