Honorary Awards of film festival announced

Veteran actress Nebahat Çehre is one of the recipients of the 34th Istanul Film Festival’s Honorary Awards.
The 34th Istanbul Film Festival’s Honorary Award recipients have been announced. The awards are presented every year to those who make contributions to cinema by the organizer of the festival, the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV).This year, the Honorary Awards will be presented to director and producer Yılmaz Ataeniz, musician Cahit Berkay, actress Nebahat Çehre, screen writer and director Safa Önal and actor Süleyman Turan. The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held during the opening ceremony of the festival on April 3 at the Lütfi Kırdar Exhibition and Congress Center. The 34h Istanbul Film Festival will be held between April 4 and 19. The program of the event will be announced March 10.
Director Zeki Demirkubuz will serve as the jury president of the National Golden Tulip Competition of the festival. The National Competition Jury chaired by Demirkubuz will award prizes in nine categories: Golden Tulip Best Film, Golden Tulip Best Director, Special Jury Award, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Director of Photography, Best Editing and Best Music. Also, for the first time this year, the festival will be awarding a prize in the documentary category in the Turkish Cinema section in order to support documentary film-makers and documentary film production in Turkey.
