Hearses and coffins brought to Soma from nearby towns to bury mine disaster victims

Authorities said large numbers of coffins were taken from nearby mosques and loaded onto trucks.

Hearses and coffins had to be sent to the district of Soma in the western province of Manisa for the bodies of the victims of the tragic mining accident, which has claimed at least 284 lives.

Across the western province of Manisa, hearses were dispatched and coffins were moved to Soma Authorities said large numbers of coffins were taken from nearby mosques and loaded onto trucks.

Officials from the Manisa Governor’s Office said the administrative center of Manisa and all other district centers across the province had been mobilized to meet the needs in Soma.
