Headmaster charged for engaging in oral sex with male partner near school

ERZURUM

A headmaster and his partner have been charged for engaging in a homosexual act in public near his school in a conservative Turkish town.

Police had caught the 49-year-old headmaster while engaging in oral sex in the back seat of his car with a 46-year-old man in the eastern province of Erzurum on the evening of Nov. 30. The two men, who were detained for “acting immodestly,” said in their testimonies that their affair had started after they met on the Internet.

The 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance accepted the indictment of the prosecutor, who demanded jail sentences from six months to one year, Doğan News Agency reported Dec. 30. The fact that the two engaged in the act during business hours at a busy street close to a high school was considered in the indictment as a reason for aggravated sentences.

The high school has begun a separate administrative investigation into the headmaster.
