Turkish President Abdullah Gül has invited Portuguese businesspeople and investors to benefit from the advantages of the Turkish economy, which he also described as an important gate to new markets.“There is an environment in Turkey where Portuguese businesspeople can conduct business easily,” Gül said, accompanied by Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva at the closing meeting of the Portuguese-Turkish Business Forum as a part of his recent visit to the country.
“The potential is great, the risk is minimal [in Turkey],” he said. According to Turkish president, Turkey has transformed itself into a safe financial environment in the last 10 years, after its recovery from the 2001 crisis, thanks to determinedly applied reforms and the restructuring of economic and banking systems. This has made it into a country where “Portuguese companies can work in safety.”
Moreover, Gül said, while Turkey is a great opportunity of itself, the countries and markets around it are developing promisingly.
