‘Hababam Sınıfı’ exhibit opens at Golden Boll Fest

Within the scope of the 20th Golden Boll Film Festival, which is continuing in the southern province of Adana, the “Hababam Sınıfı” (Hababam Class) Museum will open in the city. The museum features the characters of one of best known Turkish comedy film series, adapted from late author Rıfat Ilgaz’s novel of the same name.Wax sculptures
An exhibition opened yesterday at the museum displaying the wax sculptures of the film’s stars, including
Münir Özkul, Ayşen Gruda, Adile Naşit, Kemal Sunal and Şener Şen.Adana Deputy Mayor Zihni Aldırmaz said the exhibition would be open until Sept. 30. He said the historic building next to the Cinema Museum, which opened in the Tepebağ neighborhood two years ago, would be restored and turned into the Hababam Sınıfı Museum.
The festival will continue until Sept. 22. Twelve Turkish films were selected this year to compete in the National Feature Film Competition of the 20th Adana International Golden Boll Film Festival. The results of the competition will be announced at the closing ceremony, with the winner of the competition receiving 350,000 Turkish Liras.
