Greece ‘should follow Balyoz’
ATHENS - Hürriyet Daily News
Greece reserves the right to intervene as a litigant party in the ongoing “Balyoz” (Sledgehammer) coup plot case in Turkey, according to prominent legal experts interviewed by Greek weekly Paron.“Greece is entitled to active participation in the trial as an intervening [party] and to reserve all its legal rights, as it was subjected to harm due to the offense committed against it by the crimes attributed to the suspects, and because there was an amphibious landing attempt against it in question,” anonymous legal analysts told Paron, daily Milliyet reported yesterday.
Greece could reinforce its official foreign policy by intervening in the suit and requesting penalties for the suspects, said the legal experts quoted by Paron.
