Gezi Park hosted closing of Documentarist festival

The closing event of Documentarist attracted many people to Gezi Park.
In light of the ongoing protests in Istanbul’s Taksim, the Documentarist 6th Istanbul Documentary Days held a splendid closing ceremony in Gezi Park. While awards were presented, the award winners announced that they were in Gezi Park not only for the ceremony. The event was the only festival to hold an award ceremony in a place being occupied by protesters. In the closing ceremony, which was watched by thousands of people, the Johan van der Keuken New Talent Award was presented to the winner, which this year was “Babam, Devrim ve Ben” (My Father, Revolution and Me), the first movie by Ufuk Emiroğlu.The jury presented the Honorable Mention Award to a documentary by Doğu Akıncı, “Mustafa’nın Yaşam Zinciri” (The Life Chain of Mustafa).
