German ambassador frightened by attack on Hürriyet columnist
ANKARA
German Ambassador to Ankara Martin Erdmann said he was frightened with the assault on Hürriyet journalist Ahmet Hakan.In a written statement on Nov. 2, the ambassador said he had confidence in the Turkish judiciary that the incident would be enlightened and perpetrators would be punished accordingly.
The ambassador extended a get well message for Hakan.
The veteran journalist was injured in an assault in front of his home, after an intense campaign of intimidation and slander by pro-government media.
