Gendarmerie detains 10 suspects for allegations of sexual abuse of minors in Western province

Gendarmerie officials have detained 10 people over allegations of sexual abuse and forced prostitution after launching an extensive investigation into the molestation of two minor girls residing in an orphanage in Aydın’s Nazilli district.
 
The operation was undertaken after victims told the orphanage’s administrators in the Aegean province that they had been subject to repeated abuse before being brought to the children's home.
 
Computers, telephones, CD’s and flash disks containing evidence of the sexual abuse of minors was also seized during the operation along with narcotics, according to Doğan news agency. 
 
One suspect is still remains at large searched for, the report added. None of the detained suspects were officials from the orphanage, the Aydın Governor’s office said in a statement.
