Leading football clubs in Italy and Spain are rushing to ink a contract with Galatasaray’s top scorer, Burak Yılmaz, mainly due to the forward’s sparkling performance in this year’s Champions League.Atlético Madrid have joined Florence’s Fiorentina in looking to bring Burak, who scored eight goals in Europe’s premier club competition this year, further west, according to sources. Fiorentina’s administration is to head to Turkey today to bargain with Galatasaray, which is not satisfied with Fiorentina’s offer of 12 million euros, sources have said.
Atlético have also set their sights on Burak amid Colombian star Falcao’s widely expected move to either Monaco or Chelsea. The Spaniards, who have offered 15 million euros for the Turkish player, are preparing to negotiate with Galatasaray next week. The Spanish club is to guarantee 3 million euros to Burak in return for a three-year contract.
Last week, The Guardian had reported that Europa League champion Chelsea was also interested in securing Burak’s services.
Sources, however, have said Galatasaray President Ünal Aysal will accept Atlético’s offer.
