Galatasaray seek consolation at cup semis

Galatasaray will take on Bursaspor in the Ziraat Turkish Cup semifinal tonight.

The Lions will play the semifinal in the competition, which is likely to be their final hopes of getting silverware this season.

The game at Türk Telekom Arena starts at 8:30 pm.

Galatasaray was knocked out of the Champions League following a 3-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of Chelsea last week and was left five points behind leader Fenerbahçe, which had two games in hand, in the Spor Toto Super League.

The Lions will try to win the Ziraat Turkish Cup for the first time since 2005. Despite a near-decade long without a trophy, they are still the most successful team in the cup, with 14 wins.

Eskişehirspor, the only other former winner left in the competition, will host Medical Park Antalyaspor in the other semifinal first leg tomorrow.

The second leg games will be played on April 16.
