Galatasaray beats Gaziantepspor 2-1

Galatasaray beat Gaziantepspor 2-1 in the two teams’ Spor Toto Super League opening game at Istanbul's Türk Telekom Arena Stadium on Aug. 19.

Wesley Sniejder opened the scoring for Galatasaray with a goal in the 10th minute, while Burak Yılmaz scored the second goal from the penalty spot in the 51st minute following an infringement from Gaziantepspor's goalkeeper.

Muhammed Demir put Gaziantepspor back in the game with a goal in the 75th minute, but his team was unable to break through the home side’s defense again in the closing minutes.

With the victory, Galatasaray broke Gaziantepspor's unbeaten streak in the TT Arena Stadium.
