Funeral service held for opposition MP

A funeral service was held in Turkey's western province of Denizli for Kazım Arslan, a deputy of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), on June 8.
Arslan’s family, relatives, Turkish deputies and CHP members attended the funeral ceremony at CHP’s provincial directorate of Denizli. Arslan passed away from a sudden illness early on June 7, according to CHP officials.
He was spending his holiday with family at his home in Turkey’s southern Antalya province when he died at around 00.30 a.m. (2130GMT).
Kazim was Denizli mayoral candidate of the Republican People’s Party in 2014 local elections.
He was elected CHP’s Denizli deputy thrice.
Arslan is survived by a wife and two children.
