Fitch warns on economic growth

The economy probably grew 1.8 percent last year, he said yesterday on the agency’s Web site. The economy expanded 0.5 percent in the third quarter 2008, the slowest pace in six years. The government is seeking financial support from the International Monetary Fund as the global crisis cuts inflows of foreign investment that Turkey requires for expansion.
