Filmmor at two venues

The 11th International Filmmor Women’s Film Festival on Wheels continues today with three films, “With A Project in His Hands,” “Journey to the Sun,” “My Freedom, Your Freedom,” “Pandora’s Box” and “House in Brittany” at Istanbul’s French Culture Center. The other films screenings will be at the Goethe Institute.

Among these films are “Invoking Justice,” “Working On It” and “Know My Name.” This year’s event is dedicated to silent and oppressed women and features women and their films from 19 countries. It also includes the retrospective programs of two inspiring and empowering female filmmakers: Yeşim Ustaoğlu, one of the “auteurs” of Turkey’s new cinema, and Doris Dörrie, who reconstructs the relationship between men and women in her work with a humorous style.
