Film Fest hosts ‘Searching for Sugar Man’
Searching for Sugar Man is a passionate film about the love of music. Rodriguez is discovered at a bar in Detroit in the late 1960s. The producers who believe that he could be the biggest artist of his generation agree to record an album with him. The album becomes a huge hit, however Rodriguez disappears amid rumors that he committed suicide on stage. In his feature debut director Malik Bendjelloul poetically searches for the mysterious Rodriguez who became a symbol of freedom in South Africa.
