Female bodybuilding champion killed by boyfriend in Turkey's west
İZMİR
A female bodybuilding champion has been killed by her boyfriend in the western Turkish province of İzmir.
Pınar Çoban, a 31-year-old bodybuilder who has several national and international titles, was shot by Ferhan Sarıçam, 38, at their apartment on Aydın Hat Boyu Avenue late Dec. 28.
Sarıçam then called his uncle, confessed to the murder and said goodbye before pulling his pistol for another time, targeting his own head.
Both bodies were found after the couple's neighborhoors called the police over the gunshots. They told the local media that Çoban and Sarıçam have been living together for more than two years and were frequently arguing loudly.
A criminal investigation has been launched over the incident.
