Explosion near Turkish-Syrian border kills six

Ammunition stored in a scrap collection across the border from the southern province of Hatay exploded on Sept. 3, killing six people including one Turkish citizen. The others were all Syrian citizens, Anadolu Agency reported.The explosion reportedly occurred while a group of smugglers were preparing to transport scrap pieces to Turkey, near the Hacıpaşa village along the Syrian border in Hatay’s Altınözü district.
Security measures at the border have been increased and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
