Syrians fleeing from violence in their home country have been placed in the emergency ward of the Nizip Public Hospital in the southeastern province of Gaziantep due to a lack of space in refugee camps.Fleeing from the clashes in Idlib and Hama, around 600 Syrians, including women and children, first reached Hatay on the Mediterranean coast before they were transferred by minibus to Gaziantep.
Due to a lack of space in the camps, they were placed in the corridors of the Emergency Service of the Nizip Public Hospital, as well as the facility’s garden.
The number of Syrian refugees residing in Turkish camps has reached nearly 170,000, around 70,000 of whom are living outside camps.
